Moneylaws Overview:

      General Description
A good ridge with a steep grass covered face overlooking the Tweed Valley to Coldstream. Works best in a n.n.westerly. The site can produce excellent XC conditions with plenty of flat farmland in front and the Cheviots behind.

Contact must be made with Liz Annett before flying.
      Access Notes
Head west from Kilham and take the first turning on the right. (200m) follow the road over the bridge to a T junction on the bend and turn left. Follow the road (1mile) looking out for the right turn to Downham Farm (up hill) Go through the farm (slow) as you pass the cottages turn right then up the track to a gate, park here if the pastures are either wet or in hay (if dry) drive up around the back of the hill and park near the stone wall at the top.

      Safety
If top landing, do so in front of or well behind the wall (rotor). There have been very valuable goats on the hill in the past, take care. There are power lines over the back if going XC !

Bottom landing, nice big field but beware not to fly to far back on approach because of the steep up hill slope !
(HG)

If the wind is off to the north and light, leave for the landing field when you are just below take off (its a long glide with a 180 degree turn back into wind (HG)

Welcome to the Aero Site Guide!
Are you going to fly here?

Current Site Status:
Moneylaws currently has no flight restrictions in place. Check this info box before you fly for any late changes.
Beware of horses!
The new owner of Moneylaws (hill only, not the access) is a breeder and trainer of some very expensive racehorses some of which are in foal at present and due in the next 2 weeks. Mrs Annett was sympathetic in our needs to fly in NW-N winds and does not wish to stop us flying. However, she has suggested that as long as she is contacted before arrival at Moneylaws she will let us know if flying that day is going to interfere with the excercise of the horses. If the horses are on the hill, be prepared for a knock back. If the horses are elsewhere she MIGHT be able to re-arrange things. Contact her on: 07720 467462
