General Description
A grass covered hill that is part of a short ridge running to the northeast. Works best in a w.n.westerly wind, will also take n.west.
Access Notes
From the B6351 turn left into Kilham. Follow the single-track road past Longknowe Farm and to Thompson Walls. Park just past the farm buildings and walk up or take a 4x4 vehicle part way up the hill from just before the farm buildings.
Safety
Top landing is difficult for HG's because you will be landing on the side of the hill (down slope) its OK but don't fly to far back because of very strong acceleration !
PG's Toplanding - becareful not to get blown back spine back ! head n.west as to avoid rotor or fly on to the next ridge down wind (600m) (only in a full westerly)
The gully (left side of hill ) can very turbulant if the wind is of to the s.west.
There are power lines over the road next to the farm.
The site gets turbulent if the wind is off to the s.west
