General Description

A large steep grass covered ridge facing deep valleys out in front, works best in n.easterly but will take a bit of easterly. This site has very good ridge lift (wide lift band) good thermals on the right day. There are also good ridges to the n. west & s.east if you get the height to reach them! Huge landing areas (top and bottom)

Access Notes
This site lies WNW of Alnham, which is situated on the road between Prendwick and Netherton. From Alnham follow the track as indicated on the map and park up after the cattle grid with the site on your left.
Safety
Beware of strong acceleration at the top if windy, there is plenty of room over the back to land (heather) but could be turbulant.
Beware of a fence that runs along the bottom of the ridge when on approach (HG bottom landing)
If going XC, Otterburn danger area is 7 miles `over the back'. This is a no go area.
This site is a must for NOTAM ! due to the Otterburn ranges over the back.
